The Prescription You Didn't Mean to Fill by Kelli
When I was growing up, doctors handed antibiotic prescriptions out like candy - yep, just like the lollipops they gave you for being good. I may not have come outta there with a lollipop every time, but I always had a bottle of pink Strawberry-Banana-flavored amoxicillin by the end of the day.
Times have changed. I'm noticing many doctors seem to be more careful about giving out antibiotic prescriptions, and they seem to be working to educate their patients that too much and too many antibiotics can lead to their becoming less and less effective, so that we have a constant need for newer, stronger antibiotics that our bodies haven't become used to.
I think this is a great change, but I realized the other day that I don't think any of my sisters or sisters-in-law realize they're getting antibiotics in the food they're eating and feeding their children. In fact, I think most moms (or people in general) aren;t aware of this, so let me elaborate.

SEASNAX - STRANGELY ADDICTIVE |
Hey hey! We've got some more awesome snacks to tell you about and to giveaway!
A few weeks ago we mentioned the benefits of adding sea vegetables to your diet. We've been playing around with a few recipes and keep being surprised by how tasty these dishes can be.
Then we stumbled upon a snack food that gave us one more option, an easy and convenient one we might add, to eat more seaweed. They're called SeaSnax, made by a company in, where else, California. The company was happy to share some with us so we could try them out and tell you about them, with the added bonus of giving some away too!

Better Than Your Grandmother's Banana Bread
This healthy recipe makes the best banana bread we have ever had. My niece is famous for asking me "is it yuck or is it yum?" This is most definitely yum! It's big on taste, and all it's missing are refined grains, gluten, and dairy.
This is definitely one of our favorite treats, and we haven't had it for a while, so I decided to make it up for Father's Day. Of course Brad helped. We have a blast cooking together, and the only downside is that it's hard for me to surprise him . . or, in the case of this recipe, have any batter left to put in the oven after Brad's many quality control checks! :) I love it warm when it's first baked, and that's easy to recreate even after it's frozen: just pop it in the toaster or toaster oven. Enjoy!
